I've been reminded of the shortness of life this month. There are 12 employees where I work and in the last month, five of us have lost someone. A son, a daughter, a brother, an uncle, a father-in-law.

Granted, they each had serious medical conditions, but still. It brings close one of my deepest fears, losing someone I love.

That Title reaminded me of the song from Kansas: Dust in the wind.
Life is fragile and short but we don't want to hold it too tight because eternity has the potential to be so much better.

[livejournal.com profile] sovevuni 's post on Tuesday made me think once again of the continual loss we will be experiencing as we get older.

Loosing someone you love is indescribable and the grief process takes longer than anything else I've ever experienced.

Having said all that, my sister was saved and I know she is with our Lord in heaven and is experiencing everlasting joy. That is where I get my peace. I'm going to be with her and Jesus for all eternity. This life is but a vapor.

That thought also keeps me in the prayer closet, praying for lost sheep in the family. (((hugs)))

Thank you. (((hugs back)))

It's easy for me to say that they're not only better off, but also delighting in the presence of God, but difficult for me with the thought of them not being with me. I know, selfish and all that.

Dear Holly - Bless you - Please don't be fearful in advance. You know He will be there, waiting for you, if such a difficult time comes to you.
“It is God to whom and with whom we travel. While He is the End of our journey, He is also at every stopping place.” Elisabeth Elliot

I have told my family that when the Master sends for me to go to the High Countries' no-one is ever to say "we've lost our Mum" - I positively refuse to be "lost" ! I'll be FOUND - everlastingly !
and they're not to advertise that I've "passed away" either. I'll have been ushered in, welcomed, begun real life at last, at HOME !

Yes...I decided long ago that when I die, I want my headstone to be 1 Corinthians 15:55, O death, where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting?"
