OK, I deleted the past comment to your entry and tried pasting into both yours and joyfulmelody's entries. I guess I don't understand what I'm supposed to be copying and pasting? Everyone else commeting to both yours and her entries seem to come up with something more interesting than what I pasted! LOL - so I guess I'm confused! Doesn't take much to confuse me, but oh, well! LOL
And, wow, you scored 99% higher than most guys your age on friendliness. The test must not be right. ;) J/K, you're really nice, and I know a lot of young guys these days are very lacking in that way.
(Note to Holly: I was writing this to my brother about a quiz he took.)
Life has loveliness to sell, All beautiful and splendid things, Blue waves whitened on a cliff, Soaring fire that sways and sings, And children's faces looking up Holding wonder like a cup.
Life has loveliness to sell, Music like a curve of gold, Scent of pine trees in the rain, Eyes that love you, arms that hold, And for your spirit's still delight, Holy thoughts that star the night.
Spend all you have for loveliness, But it and never count the cost; For one white singing hour of peace Count many a year of strife well lost, And for a breath of ecstasy Give all you have been, or could be.
You probably don't want me to do that since I haven't copied anything since this morning when I wrote a long entry and I just confirmed that that's still what it is. (I always copy long entries in case the computer hiccups or something and I lose them.)
' "But these strange ashes, Lord, this nothingness, This baffling sense of loss?" Son, was the anguish of my stripping less Upon the torturing cross? Was I not brought into the dust of death, A worm, and no man, I; Yea, turned to ashes by the vehement breath Of fire, on Calvary?
O son beloved, this is thy heart's desire: This, and no other thing Follows the fall of the Consuming Fire On the burnt offering. Go on and taste the joy set high, afar,---- No joy like that to thee; See how it lights the way like some great star. Come now, and follow Me. ' [Amy Carmichael]
