I knew I was forgetting something!

In my 'while I was walking' post, this was supposed to be number one:

• I shussshled (to borrow a perfect word from allthings_well) through some leaves on the side of the road. You know, if someone were to make a candle or some kind of scented thing with that mellow, distinctively autumn smell, I would buy it!

yankee candle does have 2 - once called 'autumn leaves' and the other is 'autumn lodge'. both have that smoked leaf scent with a bit of warm spice. i think they're only available as votives.

i just let the dog out and spent a few extra minutes in the chill listening to the leaf whisper. they'll be silent before long. *:(

Mmm! The smell of dead leaves and lots of mud! ;)

No, really: yum. But it's not just the smell that makes Fall so beautiful. It's the crisp, cold air, the wet sidewalks, and the squirrels skittering about.

And, as much as I wouldn't cry if Halloween disappeared without a trace, it's also a two and a half foot Darth Vader stalking down the street, sporadically reaching up to poke the scary-sound emmitting button hanging on a cord around his neck. :D (Okay, so it didn't make the season more beautiful, per se, but it gave me a laugh!)

Yes!!! A kindred spirit!

Although a Darth Vader may not make it more beautiful, a two foot (one year old) lady bug wandering around the street while her daddy and I chatted certainly did. :D
