In question #3 You should have a choice that read... Yes, but I'd rather leave it to someone else.

True! Though I can make a pie my Mom and my friend Maureen make them so much better - I am just too embarrassed to.

Hailie said when she saw this picture "Hey, that's Holly's!"

I should clarify something

I have made one apple pie in my life, which is why I said I had to say yes. But I can't say if I enjoyed it or not. I mean, I did enjoy it, but there is a different reason behind it than the sheer enjoyment of pie making. It was in chemistry class, and we didn't actually use apples. We used various chemicals (ethers) that create the smell and taste of apples, and used crackers to create something that did not exactly mimic the texture of something not quite like apples. It was, though, pretty tasty. And we made ice cream by putting the ingredients in bags with ice and tossing them back and forth.

But I digress...

While I did enjoy the process, I can't say that I actually enjoy making pies. And since it was my only one, that is my reason for putting the "I don't make pies!" answer to the butter question.

That is all.

I didn't know you were even *supposed* to put butter on top of fruit pies before the crust...so I guess I always forget it, LOL!

I don't mind cutting apples for pies, but my sister is SO much better at making the crust than I am that I generally team up with her rather than making a pie all by myself. ;-) She sells them at markets a lot, so has really perfected the art by now -- they're so good. :-D

Teaming up is great fun. One of my sisters is great at making crusts and I at crimping them. :)

I, unfortuantely, tend to steer clear of apple pies now (unless I can't resist), because I think I must have some sort of sensitivity to cinnamon. If I eat something with cinnamon in it, I find my throat tends to feel very raw. (I was also the only one of my siblings to not be fond of cinnamon toast.)

Which is frustrating, because I don't make pies (and how often would I have the time, even if I could), but all store-bought apple pies are going to have cinnamon...but I love apple pie. :-( So sometimes, I cheat. (Eventually, I wish I hadn't...except it tastes so good.)

On the plus side, it's the only food allergy I'm aware of, and cinnamon is fairly easy to avoid.
