funny

Humans are funny creatures. Isn't it weird how nobody can experience something without having someone either one-up them, or even just compare or share similar circumstances?

Example:

Girl 1. Wow, I'm tired. I slept very poorly last night.
Girl 2. Yeah, I know what you mean. I haven't been able to sleep well for a week...it's weird.
Girl 3. When I was sick once, I had insomnia, and didn't sleep for 72 hours.

That's kind of the mild form...but I'm sure you all know what I mean and could share similar stories. ;)

So, the thing is...are we helping the situation any? Sometimes it is comforting to know that what you are experiencing is not just you. Sometimes it's just silly. How to know... *shakes head*

I like to eat..

...just a random fact about myself. Here's another for you, I've listened clear through Handel's Messiah over a thousand times.

I just wanted to make a few comments about my last poll because I liked it so much, and because I can.

The Poem:
I liked this_is_warmthLana's the very best, but I liked others...Read more... )

They were all so good and funny though! Beware! I'll be doing this again. :)

Shoes:
I have to agree with melyndieMelinda about the shoes...I nearly made the number 12, not six. Just look at the interesting info I'd've missed out on!

Creatures:
I'm happy to know that I'm not the only one who wishes to be a dragon or a turtle. Which are you?

Fish:
I am definitely in a minority here!

Senses:
I found out that my friarsladyMom had never thought of this question.

I am currently eating warm cherry pie and talking on the phone to my nephew, Dylan. Hilary is in the other room reading a book to the kids. It's called The Story of Holly and Ivy, and it's kind of weird to keep hearing my name.

I leave you with a quote from George MacDonald:
' .... The truth of the flower is, not the facts about it, be they correct as ideal science itself, but the shining, glowing, gladdening, patient thing throned on its stalk --- the compeller of smile and tear from child and prophet. ... '

Hailie quotes and questions of nativity

The van pulled into the driveway after church today, next to my car. Hailie remarked, "That car looks like someone parked it there because they can't get married."
Thanks, Hailie. :)

So [livejournal.com profile] melyndie made me curious by her reference to a 'native Idahoan'...what makes you a native of a particular place? Is it your birth place? Or just where you've lived the longest? I was born in Idaho, but only lived there a total of about 6 years. I lived in Washington for about 16, Nevada about 4, and Kenya a little less than one. So am I a native of Idaho because I was born there, or Washington because I lived there the longest?
